Inorganic chemist, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Developing Countries, researcher and doctoral supervisor of the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Institute of Chemistry of the Changchun Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Director of the State Key Laboratory of Rare Earth Resources Utilization.

He has been engaged in solid-state chemistry and basic and applied research of rare earth materials for a long time. His research work mainly focuses on the fields of photoluminescence and electroluminescence of transition metal composite oxides, rare earth compounds and rare earth/polymer hybrid functional materials. He has presided over a number of topics including the National Climbing Project, the National 973 Project, the National Outstanding Youth Fund, the National Funding Committee, and the President’s Fund of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and served as the chief scientist of the 973 Project-Basic Research of Rare Earth Functional Materials. . Won the first prize of Jilin Province Natural Science Academic Achievement Award, the first prize of Jilin Province Science and Technology Progress Award, the second prize of National Natural Science Award, the first prize of China Nonferrous Metal Industry Science and Technology Award, the second and third prize of Natural Science of Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has published nearly 200 academic papers in domestic and foreign journals such as Chem. Mater, Chem. Commun, Langmuir, etc., and has authorized more than 10 invention patents.
